What Makes It Special
Organic trailblazer: One of Kenya’s very few certified organic estates—Muiri has
held its certification since around 2008.
• Heritage estate: Established in 1976, spanning ~400 acres, with its own wet mill, dam,
and on-site infrastructure for sustainable operations.
• Rare variety mix: Grown from top-tier cultivars (SL28, SL34) plus disease-resistant
Ruiru 11 and K7—offering complexity, nuance, and resilience.
• High-altitude terroir: Grown on fertile volcanic soils at over 1,500 m → slow cherry
ripening for brightness and depth.
• Lauded for awards and quality:
• Finalist in the Good Food Awards 2021; praised for “black cherry, grapefruit, allspice,
effervescent like champagne”.
Brew Uses
